Cheadle Hulme School is a coeducational independent day school situated within an impressive 83 acres of countryside tucked away between the A34 Wilmslow-Handforth Bypass and Cheadle Hulme village.
Founded in 1855 as The Manchester Warehousemen and Clerks’ Orphan Schools, its original intake consisted solely of “orphans” (children who had lost their fathers), who were sent to an existing school in Shaw Hall, Flixton. The school moved into its own premises in Park Place, Ardwick in 1861, and to its current location in 1869.
Today the school is set over an impressive 83 acres has around 1,400 pupils, and in addition to its academic programme offers a wide variety of extra-curricular activities. The most recent inspection report rated pupils’ achievement throughout the school, the range of extra curricular activities, pupils’ personal development and leadership and management as “outstanding”, and confirmed that “the school meets all the requirements of the Independent School Standards Regulations”.
The sports experience is integral to education at Cheadle Hulme School, and students are encouraged to try their hand at a range of sports and fitness activities, whatever their level of ability. The provision of facilities was described in the most recent 2017 ISI Inspection as “outstanding”.
The range of facilities children at the camp will enjoy include a modern indoor sports halls, indoor heated Victorian swimming pool, outdoor tennis and netball courts, state-of-the-art pavilion with multi-activity rooms and all weather sports pitches.
The facilities and high quality sports fields are regularly maintained by the School’s experienced Sports Caretakers and professional Groundsmen, making sure that children have the best experience – whatever the weather.
