Regional Manager
A King's Camps regional manager position is a seasonal role during the Easter, summer and October school holidays. A regional manager is responsible for managing, supporting and auditing between five and ten King's Camps activity camps within a stated geographical area.
Regional managers are responsible for communicating with, managing and supporting the camp managers in your region before, during and after the camp seasons, helping to resource the camps and to be the first point of contact for any information, requests, recruitment issues and incidents for the camp managers. Regional managers are also to act as the responsible person for your region with regard to child protection.

Regional Manager - Skills Match
- Ideal candidates will be PE or primary teachers, those studying towards becomming a PE teacher or individuals with significant sports coaching experience and have at least 2 sports coaching qualifications.
- Candidates will have at least 2 years sports coaching experience, together with at least 2 seasons of working on a children's activity holiday programme.
- Experience of working with and managing a team and working with children of all ages, especially children under the age of 8 is essential.
- Ideal candidates will be dynamic and self-motivated, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as good organisational skills and a determination to follow clear procedures and hit targets.
- Candidates must be passionate about sports coaching and child development.
- Having a current First Aid qualification will significantly increase the chance of selection.
Regional Manager - Job Details
- Days of work for Easter camps: 1 day prior to camp, 5 days during camp, 1 day post-camp.
- Days of work for summer camps: 2 days prior to camp, 20 days during camp, 1 day post-camp.
- Days of work for October camps: half day prior to camp, 1 day during camp, 1 day post-camp.
- Rate of pay is £80 per day plus travel expenses.
Regional Manager - Duties & Responsibilities
- Communicate site specific issues with all managers prior to camp using a pre-camp checklist.
- Support those new to management by attending their first day of camp.
- Deliver staff induction training in camps where there is a new manager, prior to camps starting.
- Hold levels of stock and staff uniforms and replenish camps as necessary.
- Be a first point of contact to managers in your region troubleshooting, dealing with recruitment problems, responding to serious incidents, providing advice
- Maintain consistently high standards on camps using a standard checklist and report targets and action plans electronically to Head office immediately after each camp visit.
- Carry out quantitative camp audits.
- Monitor staff development on each camp and report back rising stars and coaching award nominations.
- Act as the responsible person for child protection your region.
- Ensure all camps are closed effectively with a mind to venue relations, stocktake and equipment packing.
- Carry out work review and feedback for all managers.
- Plan and implement up to 3 regional interview days for potential staff in the area.
Regional Manager - Training
- Depending on background full training will be offered to ensure a consistent understanding of policies, procedures and expectations. Induction may involve managing a camp, shadowing an existing regional manager and role-specific centralised training with regular updates.
- Attend Managers’ Training weekend in Sheffield.
