PPA Sports Coach
A King's Camps PPA coach is responsible for the planning, preparation and delivery of a specific sport or activity to children at a Sheffield Primary School. PPA coaches are responsible for the care and safety of their class of children throughout each session and for delivering a fun and structured sports coaching experience.
The role of PPA coach involves leading sport or activity sessions with classes of Yr 3 (7yrs old) up to Yr 6 (11yrs old) children and applicants must be confident leading all these age groups.
PPA Sports Coach - Skills Match
- Ideal candidates will be proficient in coaching a range of sports, preferably net and wall, invasion games or striking and fielding games, and will ideally have a specialist sport or activity they are particularly experienced in.
- An NGB sports coaching qualification in at least one sport, or studying towards a sports, teaching, coaching or PE qualification.
- Experience of working in a school with full classes of children aged 7-11yrs old is essential.
- Having an up to date enhanced CRB check done within the last 3yrs is essential.
- Candidates must live in or be able to commute to Sheffield on a daily basis.

- Hours of work are 1.10pm-3.30pm, Monday-Thursday during term time.
Rate of pay is dependent upon qualifications and experience
PPA Sports Coach - Duties & Responsibilities
- PPA coach must focus on the children in your care at all times. Get to know the children in your class, ensuring that their enjoyment and learning is your prime concern. Encourage the children in your class and integrate any unhappy or unwilling children into the class activities.
- Ensure the health and safety of the children in your care. Be fully aware of the health and safety policies and ensure the children in your class are aware of all risks and relevant safety policies.
- Plan, prepare and deliver quality, fun sessions for the sport/activity that you are scheduled for.
- Ensure that discipline is maintained, and every child is participating.
- Lead registration, supervise the children getting changed at the start and end of the afternoon, and distribute any letters to the last class before home time.
- Ensure the safe and effective use of school facilities and sports equipment. Respect the school facilities and ensure they are treated with care and left clean and tidy at the end of each day. Check the equipment daily to prevent loss of equipment and identify damaged items.
