Head Football Coach
An International Soccer Schools head football coach is responsible for the day to day running of the International Soccer Schools football camp and the planning, preparation and delivery of the football camp programme to a group of children aged 5-12 years. The head football coach role involves leading and motivating the ISS football coaches and coaching team to achieve the highest levels of care, football coaching, organisation and health and safety, while providing a fun football experience for children.
The head football coach must also lead a group of children aged 5-12 years through a prescribed range of football coaching, games and themed activities as part of the International Soccer Schools football camp programme.
International Soccer Schools football sessions include a range of football skills and technical football sessions, combined with fun football games and competitions, getting all the children involved and helping them to improve their football skills and techniques.

Head Football Coach - Skills Match
- Ideal candidates will be a minimum of FA Level 2 qualified football coaches with experience of team management and extensive football coaching experience.
- Experience of working with children aged 5-12 years is essential along with good leadership and organisational skills, be vibrant, fun and have a confident personality.
- Having a current First Aid qualification will significantly increase the chance of selection.
Head Football Coach - Job Details
- Hours of work are generally between 9.45am and 1.15pm, during the holidays and will be confirmed by contract.
- Rate of pay is dependent upon contract.
Head Football Coach - Duties & Responsibilities
- Head football coaches must focus on the children in your care at all times. Welcome and get to know
the children in your group, ensuring that their enjoyment is your prime
concern. Care for and encourage the children on International Soccer Schools football camp and integrate any unhappy children into the group activities.
- Ensure the health and safety of the children in your care. Be fully aware of the health and safety policies and inform the head football coach of any contravention of policy. Ensure the children in your group are aware of all risks and relevant
safety policies.
- Encourage, care and maintain
discipline of children - ensure that the children are cared for and
encouraged, and that the discipline of the children is maintained and
behaviour problems are dealt with sensitively but effectively.
- Plan and prepare fun football activities relevant to the theme and the type of football activities delivered that day.
- Plan
and prepare each football coaching session ensuring you feel competent in delivering the
football sessions detailed in the ISS football coaching manual. Prepare additional activity
ideas for each football session enabling adaptation and progression within the
football session.
- Manage, motivate and develop the ISS football coaching
team. Act as a role model to the ISS football coaching team by setting and maintaining
high standards. Ensure that the ISS football coaching team is informed, motivated,
encouraged, supported and feedback is given on their performance.
- The heads football coach is responsible for the training of the ISS football coaches on the football camp.
- Maintain good
relationships with the members exceeding their expectations by ensuring
excellent customer service is delivered. Ensure the football coaching team takes
ownership of problems or questions that arise, and that they are dealt
with quickly and effectively.
- Ensure good liaison
with, and care of, the venue, build a good working relationship with
the venue contact and ensure the facilities are treated with care and
left clean and tidy at the end of each day.
- Pre and post camp administration - plan and prepare before the football camp starts and
ensure paperwork is completed to specification and deadline.
- Communicate
effectively with head office representatives. Inform head office of any
problems, concerns, accidents and incidents relating to any aspect of
the camp.
